MKT 250

I want to be a math teacher. I had absolutely no interest in running a business. I started this class with trepidation and the mantra learned from a past classmate-“Trust the process”. I jumped in knowing the Lord would help me learn what I need to learn. Suddenly I’m learning about business models and brainstorming business ideas. My favorite brainstorming activity is listing personal strengths. At first, I listed my strengths and wondered how being a good listener or a calm peacemaker could become a business. Pondering for a few days brought me an idea I can be passionate about and schemes of how it might be done have been flowing. Listing my strengths helps me brainstorm further. For instance, I can more realistically see how I might provide a solution to a problem or what kind of market to familiarize myself with.

While studying about product and business models we had to evaluate which to do first. It seemed obvious that having a product should come first but I’m well aware that there may be something I’m not thinking of. I look forward to gaining insights from my more business minded classmates. Either way, I know a business needs to be flexible. Using keywords to evaluate competition and impressions, or traffic, is something I’m just grasping. As I keep working on my first project, I look forward to becoming more familiar with business models and using keywords for drawing more business to my website.
